Creating Things Day Five - A Mix CD

I used to love making mix tapes when I was much younger.

You know, waaaaaay back in the day when people actually used tapes?

I just like older music forms. Seriously, my car has a tape deck in it.

I also own (and use) a record player. I love going shopping at the local record store.

But this is not about records, this is about CDs.

Because let's face it, it's so much easier to make music for someone these days.

All you have to do is drag some files across the laptop screen with your mouse and click Burn.

So today I'm making music.

I made these CDs to play in my car with summer music.

I meant to do it for the fall, but just never really felt like it.

So today, I'm making a post-holiday Winter Mix CD.

What kinds of songs make me feel wintry and not summer-y? I'll put up the playlist because who wants to see a series of pictures of my computer screen?

Here's the playlist:

You're The Only One by Eric Benet

It turns out that when I think of winter music, I have three categories.

1. Music I want to snuggle to.

2. Music that is slightly subversive (I mean just slightly) or slightly angry.

3. Music that I really love no matter what time of year it is.

It's so hard to narrow down the list. That's how I ended up with two CDs.

I also learned that it's been forever since I got new music.

I literally have maybe 3 songs on the CDs that came out in the last year.

That's how Cee-Lo's song ended up on the list. It's so new. It's a winter song since it still plays on the radio in the winter.
